In American Life I (HIS 106) and Europe Since 1500 (HIS 116) students will investigate two societies developing side by side, interacting, diverging, and disputing through the crucible of political, military and philosophical conflict to produce radically new societies that constitute the modern world. These linked courses are designed for both the major beginning a career in historical study and the non-major fulfilling Intellectual Foundations requirements in a more supportive and engaging atmosphere. The content of the courses will interact to provide a more thorough understanding of the material and provide additional support for the personal development of the student.
