How has the history of early modern Europe shaped the culture that we now live in? What role does rhetoric, writing, and critical thought play in all of this? What were the choices made then that influence the choices that we make today? Why are all of these French and Italian writers important in American classrooms regarding writing? These are the questions that the students and teachers in this Learning Community will examine throughout the semester. Students will learn how to examine these questions and to come up with questions themselves in this LC. They will read, write, listen, and discuss and the classes will culminate in a Research Paper.
