Are you interested in the core elements of public administration and nonprofit management? This community is designed to give students a glance at careers in the nonprofit and government sectors and/or in public administration and public affairs. Here you will discover the structure and workings of agencies charged with the administration of governmental functions.
PAD 101 will introduce students to the field through guest lectures by professionals working in government and nonprofit agencies, a field trip to government offices in downtown Buffalo (or virtual field trips IF COVID-19 persists), hands-on case studies, and contemporary readings about government and nonprofits.
UNC 100 will engages students in meaningful inquiry and activities that develop core cognitive skills such as critical thinking within an academic discipline and develop students’ skills that will increase academic success.
This learning community is ideal for those of you thinking of a future in international affairs, governance, social justice, politics, teaching, and public service.
