Dr. Kevin Williams, an associate professor in the Earth Sciences and Science Education Department and the Director of the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium at SUNY Buffalo State, is a planetary geologist. His research projects examine subsurface ice in the Canadian Arctic and the geologic history of Mars. Williams received his Ph.D. in planetary geosciences and remote sensing from Arizona State University. After four years of working as a research fellow at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum, Williams joined the faculty at SUNY Buffalo State in 2006.
