Ann started her career in New York City after she received her M.F.A. from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She worked in the New York City area for several years designing for stage, dance, film, and opera. She was the resident costume designer for the Theater and Dance Alliance (TADA), a children's theater organization whose performers are children and young adults.
After moving to Buffalo in the early 1990s, Ann continued her work as a costume designer and technician at Studio Arena Theatre. Her costume design for Freud’s Last Session was seen recently at Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, NY. She has also designed for the Theater of Youth (TOY), Shakespeare in Delaware Park, Kavinoky, Irish Classical Theatre Company, and the Jewish Repertory Theater of Buffalo.
Ann received the 2009-2010 ArtVoice Theatre Award, Outstanding Costume Design for her work on The Tempest for Shakespeare in Delaware Park, directed by Derek Campbell.
Currently, Ann holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Theater Department at Buffalo State where she teaches Costume Design and Technical Theater. She designs the costumes for the theater department productions and mentors student designers.
In addition to her work in theater Ann has earned a third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do from Master Chong’s World Class Tae Kwon Do. She is a volunteer instructor with the organization and has held several self-defense seminars on BSC campus.
Ann is extremely proud of her three children who she considers to be her greatest gift. She strongly believes in the importance of theater, art, and music in education as well as in life.
